Cypress Computer Systems and Veridt Announce New Family of Mobile, Wireless Readers

Los Vegas, Nevada, April 2, 2008—Cypress Computer Systems Inc. and Veridt announced today a new comprehensive family of mobile, wireless card readers for ID Verification and Physical Access. These readers combine Cypress's wireless Wiegand interface with Veridt's smart card and biometrics technology for a family of readers that can be configured for a card-only or for a keypad and biometric.

Card and Card Formats

HID Prox and Pyramid Prox by Farpointe, both Veridt's format and General Information, Access Control, and Bometric containers from GSC-15 compliant smart cards. The reader is also compatible with PIV II, TWIC, CAC MIFARE®, DESFire, as well as open standards ISO 1443A and 1443B.

Reader Operation

Multifactor Authentification: Card-only, Card plus PIN, Card plus Biomentric, Card plus PIN plus Biometric.

Multimode Operation: Dynamically recognize multiple card formats for legacy, local, and government requirements, such as TWIC plus locally-issued DESFire®.
