Veridt-Intelligent Credential Reader Solutions for Access Control and the Enterprise

Environmental Considerations

Weather conditions throughout the country and around the globe are highly variable. Installations may be located in regions where the summer climate results in surface temperatures that exceed even published specifications such as those for TWIC and FIPS 201. Likewise severe weather, such as monsoon-like rains, extreme cold, and icing conditions are additional indicators that warrant protection for outdoor readers.

Veridt has developed two solutions that provide such protection for severe weather and a potentially hostile operating environment.

One solution features a formed tinted Lexan visor shown at right with the contactless biometrics reader.

A second solution, shown right with a TWIC reader, features heavy duty stainless steel construction with a safety glass viewing window coated with a solar blocking material that filters over 90% of the sun’s UV and infrared radiation. Both visors mount behind the integrated reader mounting plate and can be added without disconnecting the reader cable.
