GuardDog II contactless card read interface for card-only operation and GuardDog with Biometric.

 

The GuardDog is an integrated, contactless smartcard/fingerprint authentication unit that compares stored fingerprint templates with fingerprint data acquired in real time. The GuardDog is designed for personal authentication in harsh environments and to withstand moisture, heat, and cold.

It can be stand-alone or networked and has the following standard outputs: Wiegand and RS-232.

Veridt's GuardDog reads multiple card formats, including:

  • Veridt Biometric Access Control Template
  • GSC-IS compliant containers
  • PIV
  • TWIC
  • CAC cards
  • Any data model based on MIFARE®, DESFire®, or ISO 14443 A or B

It includes a fingerprint imaging module, LED status indicators, and audible annunciation status output, accept and reject indicators. GuardDog conforms to ANSI INCITS 378 biometric interoperability standards.
