The Veridt MultiMode product family: multi-technology, multi-format readers for multi-factor authentication.

Multi-technology combines the appropriate Smartcard or Token Readers, Biometrics, additional data input devices such as Keypad, Magnetic Stripe Reader Interface and Communications Interfaces to provide the appropriate combination for single or multifactor authentication, desired security and communication for a given application.

Multi-format provides the capability to program the reader for a variety of scenarios and conditions recognizing multiple credentials on a single reader.

MultiMode readers are compatible with virtually all smartcard formats: PIV & PIV I, TWIC, CAC & CAC-PIV, MIFARE®, DESFire®, as well as open standards ISO 14443 A & B & ISO 7816.

MultiModeTM readers offer a comprehensive array of reader configurations needed to meet Today’s heightened security demands.

Hardware configurations include:

Contactless Card Read Interface + Keypad for PIN
Contactless Card Read Interface + Keypad + Biometric
Dual Card Read Interface (Contactless + Magnetic Stripe) + Keypad + Biometric

Hardware Platform Construction

MultiMode Readers “All Weather” construction is designed to operate in extreme weather conditions and temperatures necessary for the port environment.

All weather readers are sealed and fabricated from corrosive resistant materials. These readers undergo Performance Testing for Rain, Dust, Variable Ambient Conditions; Corrosion, UV Light and Water Exposure; Accelerated Aging for Gaskets, Sealing Compounds and Adhesives. Readers are IP 65 rated and operating temperatures meet TWIC and FIPS 201 standards (-20 °C to +70 °C [-4° F to +158° F]).
