Mode 1: CHUID Verification

Unique Features

Reader dynamically recognizes TWIC and legacy cards (ISO14443 A & B compliant) for dual card operation.
When operating in bi-directional communication mode, MultiMode provides unique features to simplify operation in both large and small terminal operations. MultiMode can operate in two distinct modes: “ON-line” and “OFF-line.”

ON-Line Mode

When the reader is connected to the PACS panel via Wiegand and a networked-linked management workstation in ON-line mode, the reader checks status to deny access for revoked cards from the TSA TWIC hot list and receives TPK from PACS registration. Also, the MARSEC Level can be dynamically set at the reader from the management workstation.

OFF-Line Mode

The reader will detect server status and auto-switch to OFF-line mode when it determines the server is down. In the OFF-line mode, the reader reverts to its standard reader functions using the magnetic-stripe interface for caching TPK, in conjunction with a PACS local grant operation.
